Salary: 70k to 85k

Position Summary:

Closely collaborate with the Shop Manager to ensure efficient workflow and rapid project turnaround times. Additionally, they will be responsible for creating detailed estimates for various steel fabrication projects, as well as working with the Treasurer on matters related to shop capital expenditures, asset acquisition, and staffing.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To excel in this role, the individual must effectively perform the following tasks, along with any additional duties as assigned:

 

• Analyze project requirements and create comprehensive estimates for miscellaneous steel fabrication projects based on emails, drawings, verbal, and written requests.
• Generate precise material take-offs and estimates that align with project specifications and scope, utilizing design drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
• Interpret project details, specifications, and measurements accurately.
• Develop cut sheets for custom components.
• Calculate cut sizes for custom product fabrication in the shop.
• Collaborate closely with the Treasurer to manage shop capital expenditures.
• Foster and maintain strong working relationships with customers.

 

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, an individual must meet each essential duty requirement. The following qualifications represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary:

 

• Proficiency in mathematics, including Algebra, Geometry, and basic Trigonometry.
• Knowledge of structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication processes and procedures.
• Familiarity with the construction industry.
• Ability to interpret structural and elementary engineering PDF drawings.
• Capability to establish and maintain rapport with customers and promptly address their needs.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
• Ability to efficiently guide orders/projects through various processes with precision and timeliness.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

• A high school diploma is a mandatory requirement. An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency is preferred.

 

Work Environment and Schedule:

This position involves a combination of office and plant floor responsibilities. The work schedule for this role is Monday-Thursday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM and Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
