We are seeking a hands-on Plant and Operations Manager to lead a heavy industrial metal recycling and processing facility. This leader will oversee production, equipment reliability, safety, employee development, and continuous improvement while building a disciplined, accountable operation.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead daily plant operations with a strong focus on safety, productivity, quality, recovery, and cost control.

- Develop strong awareness of shredder and separation-system performance so equipment issues can be identified before they become failures.

- Partner with maintenance to strengthen preventive maintenance, reliability, and equipment availability.
- Train, coach, and hold supervisors and hourly employees accountable for safe, consistent execution.
- Coordinate with maintenance, purchasing, logistics, commercial, and administrative teams to keep operations aligned.
- Establish clear expectations, operating discipline, and measurable continuous-improvement priorities.
Qualifications
- Progressive plant or operations leadership experience in metal recycling, shredding, nonferrous separation, or a comparable heavy processing environment.
- Strong understanding of production planning, equipment reliability, safety systems, and performance metrics.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose operational issues, improve recovery and yield, and reduce downtime.
- Proven success developing teams, reinforcing accountability, and leading cross-functional improvement.
